Attracting and retaining talent is as much a marketing issue as it is a management issue. Developing and promoting a positive organization and reminding employees of the value of being part of it is critical to getting those referral sources and keeping the talent that you have.
My key message is you should treat recruitment while you would any advertising campaign. Consider the four aspects of your marketing mix - Product, Place, Cost and Promotion. Let’s take each in turn
Product / Service - what exactly are you offering which will distinguish you against the rivals and attract the talent for your job? Full-time, long-term employment career Versatility? Freedom? Challenge? Training and development? Better pay and types of conditions? Chance to visit? And so on.
Place - what else could you do here that provides you ‘an edge’? Is that this flexible - occasions of labor, location of labor, working at home is the business situated in an inexpensive or expensive area? Can there be low or high unemployment? What exactly are the available abilities?
Cost - so how exactly does your earnings Or incentive compare? Generally the less you want or are able to afford to pay for the more you must do on the others.
Promotion - how can you intend to attract people? There's an easy balance here. Cash versus. Time. The additional time place in it the lower the cost.
Next perform a simple SWOT (Strength, Weak points, Opportunities, Threats) analysis.
Consider who your rivals are for the people and abilities you're searching for. Think also of the different causes of appropriate people. You have to think very broadly. The more sources you are able to identify the bigger your candidate pool and the greater you likelihood of both finding and prospecting the people you'll need
What have you got which will 1. Attract your target group and 2. will distinguish you against your rivals. If you're a really small company - what else could you sell as the benefits? On the other hand if you're large, what can you identify here? Weak points
Consider this from the perspective of the candidates you are attempting to draw in as well as your rivals Opportunities
Perhaps you have investigated the kinds of versatility you are prepared to offer? Have you contemplated you skill to help you company a beautiful employer? Are you aware what your target candidate’s value, see as vital, and would be drawn to? Threats
What could help make your rivals or any other companies in the same location more appealing than you? What goes on should you train people plus they leave? And so forth. Getting done the SWOT use the thinking in the future up with solutions and methods to the problems and also to frame and shape your positioning in the marketplace
